The Bicycle Abs Exercise

This exercise works the rectus and lower abs. Lie flat on the floor, keeping your lower back pressed to the ground. Bring your hands up to your head and your knees lifted to forty-five degrees. Move your legs in a cycling motion like your riding a bike. Your right elbow should touch your left knee every time the knee cycles. Repeat the process for the other side. You will recognize that your abdomen will tighten and your mid muscles will begin to be worked. Twenty reps should be done for best results.

Exercising using the Captain’s Chair

You will need a regular gym equipment piece called the Captain’s Chair for this exercise. Hold the grip handles of the captain’s chair and make sure the backs of your forearms are against the arm rests of the chair. Next locate your feet on the step rests. Hoist your body up and your feet off the steps using your forearms. Keep your body and legs down while your back remains straightened against the backrest. With your abdomen tightening, lift up your knees to your chest and exhale. Keep your knees up for a few counts, and then lower your knees again. You should do several repetitions of this. Every time you lower your knees back down, you should feel the tension release in your abdomen. If the exercise isn’t done properly, it won’t be effective. Doing repetitions daily, your stomach will tighten.
