Sod House Museum - Aline, Oklahoma

Built in 1894 the two room soddy that is on display in Aline was the original home of Marshal McCully and his family. They lived in the soddy from 1894 to 1909 when they finally could build a wood frame home. The soddy continued to be used for storage until 1963 and today is housed by the Sod House Museum.
The soddy remains in it’s original location and has been restored by the historical society to provide a place for people to see what it was really like to live in the “Old West.” The soddy is available for people to tour for no charge.
The society built a metal building around the soddy to preserve it from the elements. This piece of history will be an interesting stop for you when you are taking your Oklahoma vacation.
