A banquet is something that has a purpose behind it’s occurring. Whether it’s a wedding reception, a prom, a work related celebration, a retirement or some other purpose, you’re creating a special night for a special purpose.
Even if you have some limitations because of the nature of the event, there is a lot of creativity you can put into the theme of the evening. If you are looking for a theme or mood for a particular evening that you are entertaining use the seasons as your guide. A December feast connotes a winter or Christmas motif, on the other hand early summer would have you think of an image and decor of vacation or beach.
It’s often a good move to put together a theme committee to take ideas and think though what would be a good theme that fits the purpose of the banquet and creates the right mood. If it’s a celebration such as a prom or a seasonal party, you have a lot of leverage for a theme. You can compose a theme based on colors or ideas related to functions where there is a particular aim to the banquet, events such as a wedding party or a corporate Christmas gathering, that can kindle creative sparks in your committee.
Brainstorming in a committee has its advantage, that is, you benefit from the different talents of the group. You have the practical minded people on the team who know what you can and cannot get away with thematically and what you can and cannot afford from a budget perspective. In case you get the opportunity to be with those who churn out wonderful banquet themes and ideas you can gradually make your on theme which could be fun and exciting as well as realistic.
Once you decide on a banquet theme for your banquet, you can get everyone working on that specific theme. the music, the speakers, the entertainment, the decorations and even the lighting so it all comes together beautifully once you have your theme in mind and convey that theme to the subcommittees. And if each person performs their task well, you will have a wonderful dinner that is sure to be remembered for my years to come by everyone who was there. Be sure to also read about Banquet Planning

The world of Internet is struck by another popular phenomenon, the social networking websites. These websites provide the users with a new way of connecting with each other for the purpose of friendship, recreation or even business. There are a number of websites these days that provide the social networking services. However, each of the websites has different features.
Some of the social networking websites require the users to create their accounts; also they require the users to create a complete profile. These websites allow the users to upload images as well as videos. These websites also offer a search facility which can be used to search friends. Using the search facilities, the users can create a network of friends. This network is usually controlled by the users who build it. It is entirely the users’ discretion as to who they want to add and who they want to avoid in their network. Most of these websites also have a feature that allows the users to post a message that can read by everyone in the network also there is an option for private messages. However the users can even delete it if they want to. These were just the basic features. Some of the websites have some really advanced features. They may allow the users to play flash based games in a competitive environment. Such features appeal to a niche audience and that’s why these websites are advertised to reach only that percentage of the audiences.
The biggest benefit of these social networking websites is that they are a wonderful way of making new contacts and maintaining the old ones. They help to know a new person’s likes and dislikes, thereby letting one know if he/she can connect with the other person or not. These websites also help the professionals in their professional fields. They give them a chance to meet other people from the same profession and connect with them. In contemporary times social networking portals are also being used for the marketing of a product or service. Even films and television programs are promoted through this website by establishing a community about them, where people discuss these movies and TV programs.
There are reports of these websites being used for wrong purposes. For an instance many advertisers use these websites to get hold of the contact information of the consumers and then advertise their product or service to them. Also people these days access the personal information of these users for crimes like identity theft etc actually the use of these websites solely depends on the people visiting them. After all it depends on the purpose for which a person uses these websites.
All facts withstanding, the truth is that in the ever evolving world of Internet, the Social Networking Websites have heralded a new era of interpersonal communication. They have bridged the gap between human beings even more than telephone or emails giving a real meaning to the word Social Networking and helping people Build Relationships that lasts a life time. In short these social network websites have indeed made the world a much smaller place than any other form of communication.

Based on government crime data for 2006, there were close to 20 million crimes committed in the US for the year. By historical trend, that number would have increased for 2007. It’s also reasonable to assume that arrest numbers are not any less alarming, give and take those crimes for which arrests were not made and those arrests which didn’t lead to any incrimination.

We don’t always get to choose the people we spend our time with but we can always choose to be more alert with them. On the one hand, we wouldn’t want to make life miserable for ourselves by going about it under constant paranoia of people. On the other, we don’t want to be blind to the background and tendencies of the company we keep. We must find the balance, and we can.

The US continues to produce bad statistics in the areas of criminal violation. In terms of incarceration rate, it’s the worst among advanced countries. Greater than one in a hundred are reported to be behind bars as of the end of last year. It goes without saying that things are far from ideal but between a strong Police force and a sound public system, the situation is kept under control.
