4 Kinds of Vacationers

March 30th, 2009 at 10:01pm Under Travel

It has been said that there are four kinds of people: mountain people, water people, prairie people, and desert people. If you ask any Telluride Real Estate Agent, she will tell you mountain is best. To prove her point, she will show you some breathtaking Telluride Colorado Real Estate. But we can make an argument for each of the four countrysides.

The rugged countryside around Telluride has much to offer, no matter what the season. Summer is the verdant season. With the leaves in the full beauty of their green and the sky its heart-stopping blue, the visitor can breathe deeply and replace the stifling dry air of the office with God’s fresh breath. When just breathing becomes boring, other activities call out to fill the time. The mountains are dotted with charming, historic villages ready for exploration. In the villages the visitor can find interesting shops and restaurants with intriguing menus. In the mountains you’ll find great opportunities for hiking and exploring the slopes and valleys. You’ll want to have a camera handy to capture the beauty. But don’t forget winter. If you’re a snow lover, you’ll find plenty here. In fact, winter is a favorite time to be in the show of the mountains.

Water people will argue with the mountain people that their land is superior. Water people would say that they also have green leaves and azure sky, but have the added beauty of the water. Whether the salt water of the ocean or the fresh water of a lake, water launders the cares of the soul. The beach can be packed tightly or a solitary place. No matter. Buttered up with a thick coating of sun block, the waterbaby can bake out the troubles. Then into the water with the inflatable sea monster to play in the waves. The Northern winter is as good as in the mountains. Do you ice skate? Try it on a frozen lake.. Do you want to explore the snowy woods? Rent a snowmobile and zoom away into the cold, snowy wilderness.

Prairie people appreciate the wide-open spaces of the Old West. So many cosmopolitan cities in the Prairie States: Minneapolis, St. Louis, Kansas City, to name a few. These cities are not Atlanta or San Francisco, but instead they are cities with their own unique character bustling with friendly Midwesterners. Outside the cities are the open spaces. From the second floor of an office building in a small town in Illinois, you’ll think you can see all the way to Missouri. And between the two, wheat in every direction.

But, ah, the mystique of the desert. The dark of the night reveals the black of the sky and the infinity of the universe. Where else can you see the glory of the infinite stars and all the galaxies? Where else can you sit under these stars and experience the spirits of the ancients? During the daylight, the desert traveler can explore the relics of these ancients and the culture of the living descendants.

Which type of person are you? Mountain? Water? Prairie? Desert? Can’t choose? Visit all of them. Spendtime in each.

Business Awards Can Have Effects Much Beyond Your Predictions

March 30th, 2009 at 04:20pm Under Business

Apart from making you feel rewarded for your efforts, winning a business award is beneficial in many other ways, particularly in helping you grow in your industry and differentiating yourself from competition.

You gain immensely from such awards as the image of your company being a successful and award-winning organisation will attract more customers. The direct consequence of such recognition is a boost in your revenue and, maybe even in your profit margins.

A business award also acts as a reliable way of engaging the customers attention and promoting your company, without having to spend too much on advertising. The award events are covered by the media and are closely followed by the industry, which helps the company build brand-recognition and gives it positive exposure in the market. However, as described at award list such positive returns naturally attract competitors to the worthwhile awards.

Business awards are given away in ceremonies where many leading players converge, making the ceremonies a great opportunity to communicate with the best in the business. If you win, you immediately come into the spotlight and gain instant admiration, which can help you later in negotiating favourable deals or in forging partnerships.

By winning a business award, the chance of securing a nomination and winning again is significantly increased. A company, which has already won a prestigious award, will be seen by the panel as a respectable candidate with an existing stamp of approval. Make sure to seriously prepare for business award competitions, as winning one usually means that you will win many more in the future, which will obviously boost the reputation of your company immensely.

Business awards are certainly one of the most inexpensive ways of marketing your company. Do not forget that one prestigious business award could give you benefits equivalent to a huge spend on advertising.
